House-Review: Sebastian Ingrosso - Body Beat

Label: Royal Flush [RF037]
Mixes: Original, Steve Angello Remix
Useable or Best Mix(es): Original (Honestly, I didn't try out the Steve Angello mix yet, because the original is good enough. But I don't expect the Angello mix to be too bad anyway.)

Refers to: Body Beat (Original)

Style: House (Electro Big Room Commercial)

Mix-In: A few bars beat only, then some samples from the main theme ... a million bars later break. These "samples" can a little bit "penetrate" a smooth transition - alone, they are OK, but when they play over another track which is faded out, it sounds "too full".

Drive: Drive is very "Swedish House Mafia"-like, i.e. good and pumping (what pretty much makes up a good house tune).

Beat: The drums are really slammin' hard ;). They are a serious aspirant for the title "most compressed drum of the year". Here and there is an attempt of a syncoptation what is pushing the drive even more.

Quality: Mastering is excellent, vinyl quality is standard stuff.

Break-Down: The break right after the intro features a trance-like pad, which is - well - not really too tranceish ... err ... bad, but I could live without it as well. At least, it breaks a clubish/houseish/funky atmosphere. But that's not really the original intention of a break ;). Nevertheless, it builds up tension in it's semi-tranceish fashion. The main break on the other hand features some uplifting bass along with some tweaking and slamming drums (a little bit like in "General Moders - Cross the Sky"). But what I don't understand is the fact, that this so called "main break" runs directly into the outro without any climax. So maybe this is not the main break, but then I don't see where the real main break is. Strange.

Mix-Out: Beat only directly of the main break or whatever this in-between-main-theme-and-break is.

Comment/Opinion: Yet another "Swedish House Mafia" track which has really potential like any other S-H-M track. But honestly, you are not really missing a big thing. These S-H-M tracks are too well known these days and there is nothing special about it.
This track has potential to keep the audience near boiling point for a few weeks, but it won't be as successful as "The Weekend" or "Lola's theme".
It's a top class track, but it's not special enough to be remarkable; and - honestly - now after three times listening, I can't hear this track any more ... track ... track ... what was it's name? ... ?
